Kernel Panic Issues after installing 2.0.0 RC5 on Big Sur

Glad to be providing "interesting"... I guess?

Anyhoo, is that sufficient? I can pull the KDK, however, I've only got one machine at the moment (an old laptop, the iMac is being repaired ) and I'm hesitant to get too adventurous with the machine I need for work next week!

The delete panic is quite surprising - not sure how that can happen, but we can shore it up a bit.

The boot one seems to be related to looking for symbols. Perhaps kernel memory address issue

OK I see, BigSur will only work with keepsyms on. But I think I at least stopped it from panic if it isn't on.

I tried something to fix the big-rm problem, but I'm not confident it will fix anything

No panic on boot:

Something is busted...

Run dmesg after boot, you might find:

spl_loadsymbols: keepsyms=1 missing, probably unable to locate symbols
spl_loadsymbols: failed to locate '_vm_page_speculative_count'


BigSur now requires keepsyms=1

Ahh... right. Ok. I just rebooted with keepsyms=1 and the kexts are loaded. I'll veryify dmesg that right after I run a "big rm" (and turn keepsyms off).

Ok, so, I just deleted >450,000 files and no panic. I'm just going to prepare to run that test again, but initial indications are actually good.

@lundman the "big rm" panic seems to be fixed. Just ran my test case through a couple of times with no panic. Good stuff!
