FreeBSD switching to the ZOL branch

Postby Sharko » Tue Jan 08, 2019 1:01 pm

In recent tech news (https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page= ... S-On-Linux) it has been reported that the FreeBSD project is switching from the Illumos upstream branch to the ZFS on Linux upstream branch (for good reasons). Just curious if that has any implications for OpenZFS on OS X development?

Not so much - we used to upstream with ZOL, then illumos, and since I never removed ZOL, it's just a matter of switching back. We've never pulled directly from FreeBSD - but we could. Very flexible over here.
