Question on Pool Size

Postby monroo » Sun May 19, 2019 1:46 am

Hi all,

I've been using O3X for a while now, actually still on version 1.5.2-1. I have 6 x 4 Tb drives in a raidz2 configuration and the resulting pool has 14Tb of usable space. I remember reading something about this when I was first creating the pool but I couldn't find that post. So I thought I'd take another swing at it. If this is a common and answered question, my apologies in advance.

I think in a raidz2 pool capacity should be (n-2) x DriveCapacity. So I think in my case total usable space should be (6-2) x 4Tb = 16 Tb.

Is there a way that I can access to those 2Tb, maybe with a command or by upgrading to a more recent version of O3X, or is it expected to have 14Tb of usable space in this configuration?

Thanks again
