Small resilvers on scrub

Postby thePoet » Sat Apr 27, 2019 7:02 am

I have a pool made of two sets of mirrored drives. For some time now, nearly every scrub that is run will resliver a couple of mb of data. Any idea what would cause that? There are no errors.

I had something similar happening on a couple of different pools (one a pool of stripped mirrors, the other a RAIDZ2 pool) - it turned out a disk in each pool had started giving some SMART warning signs (I can't remember exactly which, but I think it was raised Reallocated Sectors Count numbers). I swapped out those disks, and scrubs went back to completing with no resilvering. I'd suggest checking your SMART stats for your disks using something like smartmontools.

Finally had a close look with snartmontools. It doesn’t seem to find anything out of the ordinary.
