How do I get started ?

Postby godzilla » Sun Mar 19, 2017 2:38 am

Well absolute beginner here...

I have installed the software on my MacBook running Sierra 10.12.3.

I'm trying to initialize an usb disk using the Disk Utiliy but I get this error...

Image

Command line doesn't help

Code: Select all
Alexandres-MacBook-Pro:~ alex$ diskutil eraseDisk ZFS Test /dev/disk2
Started erase on disk2
Unmounting disk
Creating the partition map
Waiting for partitions to activate
Formatting disk2s2 as ZFS Dataset with name Test
Mounting disk
Could not mount disk2s2 after erase
Error: -69832: File system formatter failed
Alexandres-MacBook-Pro:~ alex$

Where do I get from here ?

Thanks - I have my first OpenZFS volume up & running.

FWIW it would be nice it one could use the OS GUI to initialize disks (just a newbie opinion about the "out of box" experience). Failing that it should be made very obvious at install time.

Yes GUI would be nice indeed, but we've not had time to look at that yet, still quite a bit of porting to be done
