Zpool mounted but empty folder

Postby Redwolf » Tue Dec 29, 2015 6:28 pm

Hi all,

I just upgraded from 10.9 to 10.11 which required a full format of my drive because it changed from Chameleon to Clover. I did make sure to do a full Time Machine and Carbon Copy Clover backup before I made the move. Unfortunately with all my prep work, I forgot to export my zpool.

I get El capitan working fine and install OpenZFS v1.4.5 and I see my pool, WolfsDen, sitting in /Volumes/. Great! Except... it's empty. HELP PLZ. Here is info:

Nevermind! IT SUDDENLY APPEARED.

Explanation would be nice though and now I'm scared to reboot lol.

My guess is that it did a massive unlinked drain.

You should be able to see some log messages if that was the case.

Oh okay possibly. I do have to import the drive every time I reboot. Do you know why that is? I'm doing a scrub and it's 90% done so far with 0 errors repaired. So things seem fine data wise.

That should not be the case unless an insufficient number of disks is available at import time or unless you disabled auto-import. How are the disks connected?

Can you pastebin your
/var/log/org.openzfsonosx.zpool-import-all.err
/var/log/org.openzfsonosx.zpool-import-all.log

And what is the output of
Code: Select all
sudo /usr/libexec/PlistBuddy -c "Print :org.openzfsonosx.zed:Disabled" /var/db/launchd.db/com.apple.launchd/overrides.plist

As a side-note, you need to export and then re-import -d /private/var/run/disk/by-id to get rid of the mix-and-match media-* and disk*.

Code: Select all
sudo zpool export WolfsDen
sudo zpool import -d /private/var/run/disk/by-id WolfsDen

Thanks for the reply! Sorry I've been so slow. Here are the contents of those two files;
http://pastebin.com/C54Xi8Z7

And the output for the command
Print: Entry, ":org.openzfsonosx.zed:Disabled", Does Not Exist
