Help adding a disk to a mirror under Big Sur, w/ encryption

I'm trying to add a disk to a mirror under Big Sur. The mirror was created under an earlier version of macOS. Its disks use corestorage encryption, following https://openzfsonosx.org/wiki/Encryption . However, when I try to prepare the new disk with `diskutil coreStorage convert`, I get: `diskutil: did not recognize coreStorage verb "convert"`. Any suggestions?

Well, thank you for bringing this everyone attention: it appears that Corestorage no longer has encryption capability as of Big Sur. I found this short stackexchange discussion about the problem:

https://apple.stackexchange.com/questio ... on-big-sur

Also Apple Discussions:

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/253810870

The discussion on Apple discussions mentions running Catalina in a VM as a possible solution.

I can confirm that the verb 'convert' no longer exists as an option in the man page for diskutil under Monterey.

Luckily, my Big Sur mac can still read the existing encrypted mirror disks. I only noticed an issue when I tried to add another disk to the mirror. I'd be happy to convert the existing corestorage disks in the mirror to use encrypted APFS, if anyone knows how to do that. Or maybe I could just create the new disk as encrypted APFS, as long as I can still add it to the mirror.

Any suggestions?

I just wondered if you had considered native ZFS encryption?
