ZFS mirror always has the same number of checksum error

Postby novice » Sat Jul 03, 2021 10:43 am

This is the third time it happens and causes file corruption, the checksum error happens on different mirrors from last time.
I am not familiar with ZFS but this does not looks like disk failure since the disk on the same mirror always has the same number of checksum error. I wonder what's could the the likely reason for this to happen? These are the possibility that I could think of:
1. RAM issue, e.g., the checksum was already corrupt when writing to disk?
2. SLOG issue, e.g., the checksum was already corrupt when writing to disk from SLOG, not sure if it's how SLOG works. I think I can remove the SLOG from pool if that's the case.
3. SATA cable issue.
4. Disk issue.
5. What else?

Thank you in advance!

Seems the cable issue. Changed cable and after ~ 2 week and 3 scrubs, still 0 error.
fwiw, the bad cable is from brand "cable matters", the new ones are Sabrent.
