Top level zpool zfs labeled as removable disks

Postby mike0810 » Sat Feb 13, 2021 6:15 am

I have two pools, one tank and one fast. I have two zfs on tank, called media and michael, and no zfs on fast.

NAME USED AVAIL REFER MOUNTPOINT
fast 235G 440G 235G /Volumes/fast
tank 4.51T 606G 884K /Volumes/tank
tank/media 1.31T 606G 1.31T /Volumes/tank/media
tank/michael 3.20T 606G 3.20T /Volumes/tank/michael

The root level datasets are labeled by iStats Menu as "removable", the childs not. See screenshot. Also iStats does not present stats for the zfs datasets (read/write) despite i set com.apple.devdisk to on.
Also only tank and fast (root datasets) are recognized as Volumes by System Info. But there, they get labled "internal" See screenshot.

Also, somehow since updating to Big Sur, my Spotlight Search keeps stuck forever, despite delete index, stop and restarting spotlight index and such things. Also search works and time machine. - But probably unrelated... See screenshot...

Thanks anybody for help,

Michael

Hardcoded at the moment, but we could probably make it a sysctl in future
