snapshots missing

I have snapshots, but I can't see them.

Code: Select all
bash: cd: /Volumes/externalhd/.zfs/snapshot/2020-02-26_01.10.06--168h: No such file or directory

Indeed, all that's in the .zfs folder is
Code: Select all
root@usseinstein /Volumes/externalhd/.zfs/snapshot $ ls
./                         ../                        libqtmultimedia_m3u.dylib

Just for kicks, I tried to manually mount a missing snapshot and got this

Code: Select all
cannot mount 'externalhd@2020-02-27_01.10.06--168h': The parent file system must be mounted first.

You can not just access the snapshot directories under OsX, it turns out that Apple will not let us mount something from the kernel;

But otherwise, as long as you "zfs mount" the snapshot, it should work.

The first part of your answer explains my first post, but my second post contradicts the second part of your answer. Did you miss that?

Wasn't clear if you had tried to do something *really* manual with "mount" command itself, and
not using "zfs mount" - which is why I wanted to show the command.

I take it the parent dataset for the snapshot is mounted, and you still get the error?

why don’t you turn off parental controls?

I use payday loans when I need to bring together several big bills or loans, like I used to do with a car loan that was almost mature and my credit card overdraft that was overdue and costing me exponentially more every day. A payday loan I was approved for was a real relief on my debt situation, and in the end cost much less than the accumulated overdraft fees and penalties – find out here now if it will work for you.
