kext not loading

Postby Musuld » Fri Nov 01, 2019 4:55 am

Hi!

I installed OpenZFS on OS X 1.9.3 Mojave.pkg to my 10.14.6 (18G95) Mojave macOS.

The installer opened the security section of the system preferences. No option to allow the loading of the ZFS kext there though.

When trying to use ZFS, I get:

Code: Select all
Failed to load ZFS module stack.
Load the module manually by running '/sbin/kextload /Library/Extensions/zfs.kext' as root.
The /dev/zfs device is missing and must be created.
Try running 'udevadm trigger' as root to create it.

Trying to manually load the kext, I get:

Code: Select all
/Library/Extensions/zfs.kext failed to load - (libkern/kext) system policy prevents loading; check the system/kernel logs for errors or try kextutil(8).

Did I do anything wrong?

There is another thread about OpenZFS 1.9.3 not loading on Mojave. It hasn't been solved yet, but it may be informative for you.
