When I ran on 1.7.4 beta, I started seeing disk IDs of the form PCI0@0-RP09@1D-UPSB@0-DSB1@1-UPS0@0-pci-bridge@1-pci1b21,625@0-PRT1@1-PMP@0-@0:1. What was strange was that in my pool of four SSDs, two looked like that, two looked "normal."
Now I upgraded to 1.8.1 and did a sudo zpool import to see what was import-able. One of the SSDs had the PCI0 form, the other three were OK. Then I repeated the command and all four were OK. Then again, and a different SSD had the odd form. I repeated the command many times and got different results, with the PCI0 like changing around or not being present at all. In other words, it is not consistent. I'll paste a little of it below at the end of the post.
So, two things: (1) what's with the PCI0 form? (2) why is it inconsistently used?
The pool is made of four SSDs in a Thunderbolt 3 enclosure connected to either a current generation Mac Pro or MacBook Pro. The MacPro is running High Sierra, the MacBook Pro is running Mojave. Both are now on 1.8.1. Both show the same behavior. The commands below were run in quick succession.
