Z/OS hang detector?

Postby e8vww » Sat Dec 16, 2017 3:33 pm

https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSLTBW_2.1.0/com.ibm.zos.v2r1.ioea700/zfshang.htm
"When the hang detector determines that a task has remained in the same location for a predefined period of time, it attempts to determine why it is not making progress."

Is there a hang detector in openzfs on osx?

Ah i think zFS as it is mentioned there, is the FS that comes with z/OS - a completely different thing, and isn't zfs.

but, ZFS does have some internal deadman timers and so on, and the command to run if it stops moving is "spindump".
