zfs overlay... best way to use it?

Hi,

I have three pools hanging off my server now:
ztank (main pool)
BT (temp area for ah... stuff ;) )
Image (moved Pictures and Photos library off of ztank onto this pool which are 2 mirror SSDs)

Could I use the overlay property to push the Image/Pictures dataset back into ztank's mount?

This way I wouldn't have to fiddle around with reconfiguring network sharepoints...

'overlay' is a Linux-ism allowing a mount to "cover" entries inside the mountpoint, when mounting.

Perhaps you were thinking of union mount, but it's not a path I would go down.

It didn't effect the clients on my network, only the server as the path to the pool changed.

So in the end, it was an easy fix on the server side and no one here knew any different... other than the speed improvement.

God I luv ZFS. I really don't know what/how I'd mange my data without it now... Thank so much!
