CKSUM ERRORS - Please advice.

Postby RobRehnmark » Thu Oct 13, 2016 12:23 pm

Doing a scrub and seeing this now.
Any ideas on how I should proceed?
So many errors suddenly popping up on several drives...
Controller malfunction?

EDIT:
CKSUM errors keep cropping up on the third drive as the scrub continues.. at least if I keep reading from the pool.
Should I shut down and move the implicated drives to other sata ports / controllers?
Super grateful to the people developing OpenZFS on OS X!
RaidZ2 working well for storing my data, OS X Server share for Time Machine, FCPX, iTunes, Photos, etc. on my Hackinstosh.

Look for a common cause of failure. Controller is potentially a good guess.

You have backups right? If you let this continue for too long you will likely lose data eventually.

It seems the common cause is the disk model... ST3000DM001.
All over the internet there are tories of extremely high failure rates.
I'm hoping I'll get them RMA'd since they where bought less that two years ago here in Norway.
