Well, I can confirm that shutting down the mds did the trick at least once for me, too.
If this will always work, remains to be seen, though.

If it is mds, then usually you can "export -f $pool" to force it?

If that doesn't help though, lets try the debug version:

Although in the normal "MDS not getting out of the way" scenario, the export fails, not blocks permanently.

Hello guys,

I tried the "debug version" of the ZFS kernel extension, but I get an Out of Memory error, when using the import sub command (even the one only listing the found pools).
