Hello Rob,
thanks again! Looks like I have to test this on another machine. Will try this with a stick on Sierra, hoping the results are comparable to a RAID setup. I wanted to avoid this, because I have only one array (and not enough connectors on the second machine), but, hey, for science! ;)

Upgraded to macOS Sierra 10.12.1 with O3X 1.5.2 installed a week ago. No problems so far, no hanging on upgrade, no console entry regarding ZFS, all seems well. There are some problems with the upgrade (e.g. Safari hangs), but nothing points to ZFS. Thanks guys! :)

I'm using a 4 disk raidz-1 in a chassis connected via USB3 and a mirror-0 of two individually disks (USB3) on a late 2012 Mac Mini.

Is there any news on the deadlock-on-export issue with Sierra?

Hi, I am thinking of upgrading my iMac to MacOS Sierra because my Airpods require Sierra.

Just wondering if anyone could summarize the potential risks of using Sierra with zfs 1.5.2. I'm ok if there are memory leaks or slowdowns, but is there a higher risk of data loss due to zfs crashing?

Thanks so much

Haven't experienced too many crashes, but there is a really annoying problem where every time you export a dataset, there's a decent chance that the tool will deadlock and you'll have to reboot the computer before you can import it again.

Has anyone else experienced that Sierra will not wake from sleep with OpenZFS is installed and volumes are mounted, and has to be force-rebooted?

I experienced this a few times, but the issue just disappeared on its own so I didn't look into it further.

The wake from sleep issue is not just OpenZFS, it has been encountered with Screen Savers, Screen Sharing and several other things. If you have some of these working, try turning off.

I've been using OpenZFS on every iteration of Sierra without issues across several machines - you know, the versions that are not supposed to work! ;)

Seems to be resolved at least under Beta 10.12.5. ;)
