Wonky names on Linux for O3X created files

Postby zslg01 » Mon Jul 18, 2016 6:49 am

I know I read the answer somewhere but can no longer find it. I created my pool on O3X (mirrored 1TB drives). After a number of months the Mac mini died so I replaced it with a pc running mint cinnamon. There are a sprinkling of dataset names on the pool that appear as all capital letter random string names. I know its due to some name "mangling"/compatibility issue but I've forgotten the reason and/or fix (if any) ....
Any one know?

It may be Spotlight files. Give some examples and I can probably tell what it is.
