Updated OpenZFS now no space

Postby edpgc » Thu Feb 18, 2016 3:51 am

Hi

After an update to OpenZFS to the latest pubic version Finder reports no free space on the volume. I also updated my pool to the latest features.

I've managed to delete a few large zip files in finder however the free space continues to be reported as "Zero bytes available"

Can someone review the following and perhaps make a suggestion? Thank You!

Is there any possibility that the newer version of ZFS reserves more disk space for the filesystem etc, anyone think it's a good idea I just keep deleting files to try and get the usage down below 90%? Need some ideas!?

I think it holds 1/64 in reservation, somewhere. But really you want to keep your pool under 95% full or so.

I would never dream of running a single disc as full as this pool, but it's easy to forget that 10% is over a TB! Time to do some major tidying and see if I get something back! Thanks

Ok all fixed, as soon as I got down below about 450G FREE I started to get some bytes to become available in the Finder.

I guess the amount of reserved space changed when I upgraded...
