Hard Disk not mounted when external drive is connected

Postby hofub » Fri Sep 11, 2015 11:27 am

Hi,

I am loosing a Sharkoon double-disk bay connected through USB on a MacBookPro. I am happily using OpenZFS but I do not always have the drives connected. When I connect them, the USB bay is detected but for some reason OpenZFS does not mount the drives.

Can I trigger mounting without rebooting?

Cheers

Hi!

Trying out things, I found that a sudo zpool import -a does the the trick. I guess it is run in the boot sequence but not when a usb drive connects.

I assume it was a stupid question.

Not a stupid question. I just figure someone else would respond. I do the same thing, btw. There is no auto-mount when plugging in an external drive, AFAIK. It would be nice but not really necessary.
