Is there an option which disable any auto-stuff from zed or whoever it is that is too helpful
If not, how do I disable zed (or whoever) manually while I mess around with my disks? mv zed <somewhereelse> ?

When I mess around with disks and polls and replacing and trying to keep track of which disk is suspect etc. I really do not want the system to auto-import a pool (nor the filesystem) just because I plugged in a disk.
Is there an option which disable any auto-stuff from zed or whoever it is that is too helpful
If not, how do I disable zed (or whoever) manually while I mess around with my disks? mv zed <somewhereelse> ?

See the zpool-auto-import.sh script, which will be in ${PREFIX}/libexec/zfs/launchd.d
