I'm getting a kernel panic during the boot phase. The error is an illegal instruction.
I've tried installing both on top of 2.2.2 and a fresh install

You're running Open Core Legacy Project code, I take it? I wonder if that is affecting things in some way?

Yes - OCLP 2.2.0
But OCLP hasn't so far been an issue
