@lundman
- Do you plan making a 10.11 package for v2?
- Will the pools HAVE TO be upgraded? (I need compatibility to share pools with my 10.9 partition)
Thanks.

I can make a 10.11, I was waiting for people to ask for them :) When 2.0 lands, I will make pkgs for all

I don't think you should upgrade the pool at all. Only reason to upgrade is if you were dying to try out
one of the new features, but you can do that on a playpool.

Using the more recent Catalina 0.8.0 build, I have no issues with the main zfs pool and filesystem in any of my initial tests...

However "Volumes" don't seem to work - or I can't figure out where to find them. It's quite possible and likely it's me being a dolt.

Under previous versions (include 1.9.4) I had created a few volumes in my zfs pool (via: "zfs create -V 1.5tb zfsPool/zfsPhotoVolume") which created /dev/disk__ entries for each zfs volume created. So a "diskutil list" would show something like: "/dev/disk12 (external, virtual)". I would then formatted that resulting volume as HFS+ On each reboot, the pool would import, the volumes would appear as /dev/disk__ entries and Catalina (or earlier) would auto-mount those virtual volumes that had valid OS X filesystems (HFS+, FAT, etc) on them.

Under 0.8.0 while I can import the pool and mount the main filesystem, and zfs list shows the volumes exist, I can't find a way to mount those volumes under Catalina. Doing a diskutil list doesn't show any /dev/disk__ entries for the zfs volumes on the pool once the pool is imported. (aka, in the example above under 0.8.0 a diskutil list won't show "/dev/disk12 (external, virtual)")

Where do volumes show up under 0.8.0 if not as external virtual /dev/disk__ entries? Maybe I missed them in one of the /var/run/disk/__ folders? But Catalina doesn't seem to "see" the volumes and trigger an auto-mount of the virtual device however it's working.

Or are volumes no longer supported under 0.8.0?

Volumes "should" be the same, so I'll have to double check something isn't missing there. It should create a /dev/diskX for each volume, gimme a bit to have a look

10.11 trial: installs ok but no auto import even after reboot.
I'm proceeding with su (or under root user):
zpool import or zpool import -a -f give no result

zpool import -d /var/run/disk/by-id -a gives "No pool to import"

zpool status gives "no pool available"

I've scratched my head but I'm sorry I can't find what I'm doing wrong. :?
I'm not sure I'll be able to help in the next weeks as I may have the opportunity to go to the mountain, far from any computer... ;)

Try: zpool import -d /dev
/var/run/.... will only work if InvariantDisk is running - which we should check that is running too.

autoimport might be the "bash" needs full disk permission?

10.11 report: it's indeed InvariantDisk not running (checked in App Monitor).
zpool import -d /dev -a worked all right.
• If you mean "full disk permission" like in Mojave (Security.prefPane), there's no such things in El Capitan, AFAIK...
