Errata: correction to 9) in the above post should read for openzfsonOSX path (MacOS):

9) /etc/zfs/zsysctl.conf: kstat.zfs.darwin.tunable.zfs_recover=1 to make it permanent over a restart | or root# sysctl kstat.zfs.darwin.tunable.zfs_recover=1

(too much use of FreeBSD 11.2 and ZFS lately these days! )
