Spotlight not searching my ZFS filesystems

I have mypool set up as follows:

NAME USED AVAIL REFER MOUNTPOINT
mypool 3.34T 7.44T 7.97M none
mypool/mydocs 198G 7.44T 952K none
mypool/mydocs/Old_docs 198G 7.44T 193G /Volumes/Old_docs
mypool/mymedia 3.15T 7.44T 952K none
mypool/mymedia/Media-1 1.90T 7.44T 1.72T /Volumes/Media-1
mypool/mymedia/Media-2 1.25T 7.44T 1.23T /Volumes/Media-2

I'm not getting any indexing from Spotlight on my zfs filesystems. I may have turned that off using the suggestions in this article:
https://openzfsonosx.org/wiki/Stopping_ ... permission

Not having Spotlight is one of a couple issues that is causing me to consider switching to another RAID manager like softRAID. My use is a single laptop connecting/disconnecting to a 4-bay Thunderbolt enclosure. When I move away from working at my desk I'm connecting and disconnecting from the ZFS system a few times a day--it's a hassle.

How would I go about turning Spotlight back on?

Apparently all I needed to get Spotlight going was a restart. It doesn't seem like the com.apple.mimic setting is essential.

I used the steps from this Apple Discussion:
