Tip: If Spotlight refuses to index zfs array
Posted: Fri Apr 08, 2016 2:33 pmTip: Look for the presence of the hidden file metadata_never_index at the root of the array and delete it if found. Stymied me for a couple of hours yesterday.
Note: O3X used to create this file to suppress spotlight activity during early development when spotlight was causing problems for us. As of version 1.3.1-RC1 (see https://openzfsonosx.org/wiki/Changelog), this arrangement ceased.
Some users with very old pools might find this file present, it can be removed if desired.
